This piece shows the figures of Good and Evil playing each other in a game of chess. Both sides are locked in a stale mate, as is shown by each side taking the same pieces. Good is personified by an older man in all white, he is right handed and has a sculptor's tool behind his ear (symbolizing good creates and evil destroys). Evil wears all black, appears to be left handed, sits on the left, and his right hand is making the devil horns sign. The same person is used to symbolize both characters, representing the ability for all people to be both good, and evil.
Illustrator
This design was a submission to the web based clothing retailer Threadless.com. The design features a pirate deer, which is a play on the name buccaneer. 8 colors are used and half tone patters are utilized to create shading effects.
Scratch Board
This is a scratch board drawing of a ram. A scratch board is a white board that has been covered with a black removable covering. The black covering is removed with scratching tools which creates an image. I felt as though the medium lent it's self to rough bone like texture, and felt a charging ram would work well with it.

This is a high school art assignment that required: objects to be floating in space, one object passing through another, and something pouring from a different object. I chose to theme my piece around the game Monopoly. The dog piece is flying through the get out of jail free card, and money is pouring from a hotel.
Illustrator
This CD player is the result of a graphic design assignment to take an everyday object and slowly break it down using graphical elements to create an iconic image of that object. I started with a detailed drawing of a CD player and slowly started to take away portions of the CD player. By using the Gestalt principle of continuation, I was able to take away large portions of the CD player to create a feeling of shading with only two tones.

Traffic Sign is a small garage band from Antwerp, Belgium. They contacted me to create a CD cover for their demo "Fight till the end." That CD was finished in 2006. That demo was unfortunately not a success. The CD cover uses imagery of local dirt roads during the fall to go along with the CD's name, "Fight till the end."
Hi, I'm Andrew Whitesell and I design things. I first discovered my passion for design and multimedia when I started coming up with ideas for Super Nintendo games back in the early ‘90s. Being interested in both computers and art, I created my first website in 1997. Six years later, I enrolled in the New Media program at RIT where my knowledge and skill base grew.
